Chlorinated water increases the risk of cancer

According to a study published in the Spanish American Journal of Epidemiology, people who drink or use chlorinated water in the bathing and washing purposes or swimming are at risk of bladder cancer.

The researchers embarked on the study of 1200 cases of people who are exposed to chlorine through the water treatment by a similar number of people who were not exposed to chlorine.

Has been shown that people who live in places with high rates of saturation of water with chlorine for more than 49 micrograms per liter were more likely to have bladder cancer than others, where the saturation ratios less than 8 micrograms per liter.

The study also found that people who drink water treatment by more than 35 micrograms per liter increased risk of being this type of cancer by 35%.

The people who wash water chlorination was diagnosed ratios higher by 83% with increased rates of bladder cancer by 57% for people who swim in treated water in excessive quantities of chlorine.
